Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has A Glitch

Had enough Stitch yet? Well hide your coffee because the little blue terror is back in Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch has a Glitch. Ok before the eyes can roll, yes it is a sequel, which like many Disney purists I am not an immediate fan of. But I will say this. It is not as bad as the majority of Disney sequels. All the same characters return and the art maybe loses about 30% of it's original gloss. ( Not bad considering most Disney sequels drop about 60% of their original art level )
The story is ok, not great just ok. What's the word that most parents use to describe a movie that their kids love but they can only muster through? Oh yeah..."It's a cute movie". Yes it is a cute movie. Kids will adore it. Adults will love seeing Stitch go haywire a lot more times than normal, but you will miss one thing in this movie. Originality.
It is a lot of rehashes. It is also a lot of making up the story as we go kind of thing. Stitch has a glitch that is making him dangerous again. Of course they have to flash back to parts of the story that were not even discussed in the first film to make sense of this problem. So is you can look beyond a few story stretches the tale works.
The big move in this installment is the major sad factor at the end. I will not divulge what happens, but I tell you, it is a far more emotional ending than the first movie. You will sniffle at the very least. But before the ending unfold you are treated to Ohana at it's very best. ( Ohana means family in Hawaiian ) Lilo gets a tad more spotlight in this movie, and Stitch is , well he's still Stitch. There is a few less hilarious parts in this chapter, than the original. But overall it makes it by.
Glitch is a nice movie. It keeps you watching, and is not "cheaply done" as most sequels are. When you have a character like Stitch it is important you don't destroy the image of him ( Although Cinderella was a great character and they still decided to churn out a bad sequel of that classic, but that argument is for another day ! )
If it is a dark rainy day and you want to lose yourself in some fun hearted Disney movies, pop both of these in and watch the smiles crawl across your family's faces.
