Bolt Blu-ray

For super-dog, Bolt, every day is filled with adventure, danger and intrigue -- at least until the cameras stop rolling. When the canine star of a hit show is accidentally shipped from his Hollywood sound stage to New York City, he begins his biggest adventure yet, a cross-country journey through the real world. Armed only with the delusions that all of his amazing feats and powers are real, and with the help of two unlikely companions -- an abandoned house cat named Mittens, and a TV-obsessed hamster in a plastic ball named Rhino. It is during this amazing journey that he learns he doesn’t need his super powers to be a hero.
Bolt turns out to be a highly entertaining movie with a lot of twists and turns in every scene. Watching this on Blu-Ray, makes it seem as if it isn't even animation at times. This is an outstanding feature with Disney Blu-Ray that seems to leave other Blu-rays playing catch up.
The title character (
John Travolta) is the star of a hit network series about a super dog. On the show, Bolt always saves his faithful owner, Penny (
Miley Cyrus), from the clutches of the evil Dr. Calico (
Malcolm McDowell) with his super speed and powerful bark.
Bolt doesn’t know it’s just a show or that his super bark is just an effect. He thinks he is a real superhero and that Penny will fall into the clutches of the evil green-eyed man without him. When the producers make the mistake of having an episode end with a cliffhanger, Bolt escapes his confines to come to the rescue.
Our canine crusader ends up all the way across the country in New York City where he crosses paths with Mittens (Susie Essman), and the two begin a cross-country road trip back to L.A. Bolt slowly comes to find out he has no powers and learns to deal with the fact that he is an ordinary dog. Watching Mittens teach Bolt about the wonders of just being a pooch is spectacular.
We then go to our 9-year old reporter, Tiffany Ramsey, to get her point of view. She found the movie very touching at times and absolutely hilarious other times. Starting in the beginning, when Penny picked out Bolt from the store, it reminded her of the day she got her own dog, Max. Then laughing at Mittens getting pulled around by a leash and loved Rhino's antics, she was almost in tears when Bolt couldn't pull Penny out of danger but showed his loyalty by staying by her side till he found a way to save her.
When we asked her about the sound and blue ray experience, she said she can't even watch regular DVD’s any more. The Vegas scene looked like you were there, and she could even see the details of Bolt's hair moving. From her point of view, Bolt gets 5 stars.
This is a don't miss movie the whole family will enjoy -- even the music videos and games!
