Oliver and Company takes place in New York City -- the busiest, loudest city in the World!  Oliver (narrated by Joey Lawrence) is a kitten left to fend for himself.  He meets Dodger (narrated by Billy Joel), a dog who takes him in to be part of his gang.
 
Dodger and the gang, Einstein, Tito, Rita and Frances, live with a thief by the name of Fagan, and are always taking things that do not belong to them. One day, in order to pay back a man named Sykes, they decided to pull a scam by pretending to be hit by a car. While the driver inspects the scene, the others try to steal everything they can from the car.  Little did they know that a little girl by the name of Jenny was sitting in the car, and ends up taking Oliver home with her. When the gang follows them to see where he has been taken, they wind up on 5th Avenue -- a prime location, Fagan thinks. What is his next scam -- to kidnap Jenny, and hold her for ransom!
 
The story unfolds and Oliver, along with the gang, try to rescue jenny.  Of course, they prevail, and Jenny is saved!  After Fagan and the gang bring Jenny and Oliver home, they are invited to stay for a birthday party; and Dodger reminds Oliver that if he ever changes his mind, he will always have a home with them.  
 
This 20th anniversary edition of Oliver and Company includes many special features.  These include the all-new Oliver's Big City Challenge Game and The Making of Oliver and Company.  Also included are sing-along songs and two animated shorts, Academy Award winning "Lend A Paw", and “Puss Café”. 
 
The movie itself is presented in it’s original 1.66:1 aspect ratio with a very crisp pictures, and boasts a Dolby 5.1 soundtrack that seems a bit muddled at times, however, the movie still sounds better than I have ever heard it.  The only way that Disney could probably improve on the release is when they release the Blu-ray in the next go-around.
 
This movie is about friendship and just brings a smile to your face!  It is a movie your children will love and the child in you will love, as well.
