It all started with one Buddy, the original real-life hoop hound. AIR BUD is the story of a Golden Retriever that sparked a legacy when he helped a shy 12-year-old boy make the basketball team at a new school. Join Buddy and his adopted owner, Josh, on their journey as their friendship endures and rises above competition, fame, and greed.

Adopted owner, Josh (Kevin Zegers) and Buddy see their friendship tested by
competition, fame, and a greedy owner (Michael Jeter) who want to make money of his
lost dog's new found glory.
 
When the time comes, it pains Josh to let Buddy go with his old owner, especially since the man was mean to Buddy.  He only wants him back so that he can cash in on the dog's unique talents.  Josh and his basketball team need Buddy, but can Josh find a way to get Buddy back from his callous owner and keep his best friend for good? 
 
So, once again, we have gone to our 9-year-old reviewer, Tiffany Ramsey, for our review.  She has a dog of her own; and we would like to see her perspective of Air Bud Special Edition.  She already has every other Air Bud movie in her collection.  She has fallen in love with the Air Bud Special Edition and enjoyed “Dog U”.  She laughed as the greedy old owner was foiled at his plan to use Bud to make money.  Even after seeing Air Bud previously, she still was on the edge of her seat as Bud had to make his final decision.

Which was her favorite part of the movie?  Tiffany's favorite part about this movie was an added feature -- a dog tag necklace that our dog, Max, runs around the house wearing.
 
This is a great family movie and one that will rekindle the love for your own pet.  This film had our daughter trying to teach Max to play basketball again; complete with his AIR BUD collar dangling around his neck.  But, be warned, this will have you hunting
down the rest of the series.  You will spend a lot of family time watching these
with your children or even your dog!
 
The Special Edition Air Bud DVD contains a "Dog-U-Commentary" which allows
viewers to watch the movie along with commentary by Bud, Molly (his mate), and the Buddies (his children).  As the movie plays, the dogs’ comment on the scenes as well as talk to each other and the viewers about the movie.  The dogs relay some interesting facts here and there.  We did enjoy watching the movie and seeing how the Bud/Buddies franchise all started. Older kids may enjoy hearing the commentary and learning a few facts about how the movie was made.

The Aspect Ratio of the film is 1.85:1, and the sound is English (Dolby 5.1 Digital Surround Sound), Spanish.
