Walt Disney's original classic that taught the world to wish upon a star shines again when Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment releases Pinocchio - 70th Anniversary Edition - from the Disney vault.  This will be released for the first time in high-definition this March.  Brilliantly restored with enhanced picture and sound, this enduring story of magic and adventure will be available for a limited time only and comes loaded with bonus features that unlock the doors to the magical world of Pinocchio.

One of Disney's classics, Pinocchio, that tells the story of a wooden puppet who turns into a half-boy, is coming to Blu-ray for its 70th anniversary.  He is a puppet who is wished to life by Gepetto, the puppet maker who wants a child of his own.  A blue fairy gives Pinocchio life, but he soon finds his way into the hands of a wretched puppet master named Stromboli.  Together, Pinocchio and his conscience, Jiminy Cricket, go on a search for Gepetto, which brings them to many odd places, including the belly of a whale.
 
Pinocchio  has never looked better than this release on Blu-ray. The film is presented in it's theatrical aspect ratio of 1.33:1 with colors perfectly saturated and crisp, providing a perfect image of Disney's classic that has probably never looked this good since it has left the silver screen.  An all new home theater Dolby Digital 5.1 mix has been created for this Blu-ray that really enhances the emotion felt throughout the film.
 
Aside from the stunning high definition version of the film, this Blu-ray set is full of great features and supplements including BD-Live interactivity (including Disney View with Legendary artist Toby Bluth), No Strings Attached:  The Making of Pinocchio, Deleted Scenes, an Alternate Ending, Art Galleries, a trivia game for the children and the young at heart, and much more!
 
Last but not least, Disney Home Entertainment has also included a standard DVD version of the film for guests to take along on trips or pop in a room where no Blu-ray player is present.
 
This timeless Disney classic is one that all generations can and will enjoy as time goes by. While technology progresses from year- to-year, it is nice to see that such wonderful works of art will never be allowed to be forgotten or outdated.  It is also nice to know that no matter how old you are, or how many years have passed since the film was made, the storyline will always remain current and dear to those who watch the film.
