Disney World's Cirque du Soleil La Nouba To Celebrate 10th Anniversary

La Nouba, the Cirque du Soleil attraction located in Downtown Disney, will be celebrating their 10th anniversary on Tuesday, Dec 23rd, 2008.

The show has entertained thousands over the past decade, and recently, Orlando Sentinel got to sit down with Alexander "Sasha" Daniltchenko to get his input about the milestone.

Daniltchenko is famous for never missing a performance in the decade that he has worked at La Nouba. He says that about 35% of the performers have been there since the opening as well.

Before working at la Nouba, Daniltchenko was a trampolinist on a national team. He even won five gold medals. He also has a family, stating, "I have a little one. She really misses me, and I like to spend time with family."

About the transition, between individual performances and performing with a number of others at la Nouba, he said, "You have to be very observant. You practice every day, and you can only see your partner a little bit. But you can feel him, and you can hear him. You use all your senses."

Daniltchenko also says that those who are interested in such a line of work, should take caution and be serious about it. "don't buy a trampoline. It's better to go to a gym and be supervised by a professional coach who can spot you. Lots of people have a trampoline in their backyard to have fun, and so many injuries happen. Better to be supervised when you do this, and afterward you can have some fun. It becomes routine, and your brain starts working with your body."
