The 63 year old was trying to enter the Magic Kingdom on Sunday while carrying a loaded handgun, knife and scissors in her purse. Richardson claimed that she had forgotten to take the contents out of her purse before entering the theme park, and meant no harm in any way.
"(Sunday's) arrest clearly demonstrates that the security measures are up and running and that they work," Orange County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Corporal Susan Soto wrote in an agency press release.
Richardson said in a television interview that "I live alone where I'm at. Keeping the pistol available is important to me."
