Walt Disney World has announced that beginning this week, children will no longer be allowed to dine at the resort's most upscale restaurant, Victoria & Albert's. The restaurant, which is located in the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, will now only serve to those who are 10 years and older.
"We want to be the restaurant that's available for that adult experience," said general manager Israel Perez. The restaurant requires men to wear jackets, and women must wear dresses or pantsuits. Prices start at $125 per person which includes live harp music and seven course meals that can last for as many as three hours.
Rosemary Rose, Disney's vice president for food, beverage and merchandise operations, says that there are plenty of other places that families can go to have a nice sit down mal. The resort has 97 other full service restaurants. Also, according to Rose, about only three families a month would bring young children to the restaurant.
Victoria & Albert's is Walt Disney World Resort's only AAA five-diamond rated restaurant.
