Walt Disney World > Blizzard BeachBlizzard Beach
Florida sun meets alpine snow in the coolest Water Park around. Legend has it that a freak snowstorm resulted in Florida's first ski resort, but when temperatures rose, the Florida sun turned the ski runs into water slides. Now, the thrills peak high atop some of the highest slides on earth.Blizzard Beach Overview
Walt Disney Worlds newest water park. It is themed after a ski resort, This water park offers the largest number of water "thrill rides" out of any of Disney World's water parks. Blizzard beach is also the home of Summit Plummet. This 160 ft high mountain sends guests on a body slide straight down at nearly 65 miles per hour. Other rides at Blizzard beach include a bob-sled ride, a slalom ride, and the infamous "family ride". Which consists of six people getting into a big tube and fly down a flume.

Cross Country Creek - Chill out on a tube as you bob along a lazy creek circling the entire Park. On the way, you'll float through a bone-chilling ice cave. Look out! Once inside the mysterious cave, you'll be splashed with the "melting" ice from overhead.
Melt-Away Bay - Splash around in a one-acre bobbing wave pool. It's nestled against the base of Mount Gushmore, and is constantly fed by "melting snow" waterfalls.
Tike's Peak - Big fun for little tikes. This kid-size version of Mount Gushmore includes short water slides, rideable critters, a snow castle, fountain play area, and a squirting ice pond.
Blizzard Beach Ski Patrol Training Camp - Designed for pre-teens with inner-tube slides, a T-bar, culvert slide, and a challenging ice-flow walk along floating icebergs.
Blizzard Beach Hidden Mickeys
- On Cross Country Creek, look in the stonework of the bridge behind Summit Plummet.
- While going up the ski lift, you can look down at the ground and see three round flat rocks laying in the shape of Mickey.
- In the "snow" at the top of Mt. Gushmore, to the right of the start of Teamboat Springs. Look to the right and down a little from the start of the ride, you will see a blue outline of Mickey's head.

I just came back from Disney world this summer and it was one of the best vacations I have ever been on. I went in 2001 but never went to the water parks, this time however i made sure to make the time. It was worth it. You cant go to Disney world without going to blizzard beach. I found it a lot better than typhoon lagoon. All the water rides, especially SUMMIT PLUMMIT, are awesome. By the way, summit plummit is probably the most exhilarating ride other than mission space in the entire park. Its a must go on. If you do nothing in Disney world, going on that ride will make it all worth it! I had the best time of my life.

This is the best theme park, let alone water park we have ever witnessed. Slightly better than Typhoon Lagoon on the grounds of better shade on hotter days. Awesome. Don't change a thing.

I think that blizzard beach is the best water park in the world, with their snowy themed parked. They have a selection of waterslides!! from summet plunges to down hill waterslides. The chiar lift is really helpful. Summet Plummet is a high thrilling steep breath-taking waterslide. Tobbogan Racers is a really fun slide. I always wish to go back there.
