Buckle your seat belts as you head to the Moon of Endor! Begin your trip with a walk through the factory to see R2D2 and C-3Po at work as well as getting a look at replicas of the Moon of Endor and an AT-AT.
The Star Tours Starspeeder 3000 is piloted by RX-24, a novice droid pilot, who winds up turning your tour into a high speed ride through the solar system. During your ride, you dodge comets, a Star Des toyer and the Death Star! Finally you land safely back at headquarters and all ends well.
Star Tours opened in Disney Hollywood Studios (Then names MGM Studios) on December 15, 1989. The simulated ride is a park favorite, and of course, is based on the popular Star Wars franchise.

I am a HUGE Star Wars fan. Whenever I'm around for Star Wars Weekends they have at Disney World's Hollywood Studios, I make it a point to come out and ride Star Tours. This ride is so cool and the best part about is that there are a number of different rides all wrapped up in one. There is an amazing journey awaiting all riders, but the path one takes will be different every time you ride. Board the Starspeeder 1000 with C-3PO and R2-D2 in an adventure through the stars and a multitude of planets and events. Riders may end up running from Boba Fett or speeding around Tatooine in a podrace or even flying out for a battle with Darth Vader himself. All the Star Wars fans need to be here on this ride, it is so cool!

This is more of a 3.5 than a 3. It hasn't held up as well as other attractions, but the ride was quite groundbreaking when it debuted. This ride is definitely in need of updating to the newer Star Wars movies.

As we go more that twice each year, we tend to see the attractions more than most. Star Tours is great, but I believe it is getting a little dated and needs to be updated. The motion simulation is great and the excitement is blended well with the comedy to make it not so scary.
