Perhaps the most famous attraction at Walt Disney World. I prefer the California version (and am dying to try the Paris version) over this one, but this is still a must ride.

One of my favorite rollercoasters of all time. Also, people may say it only goes 28mph. But then, your riding in complete darkness.

Compared to the Space Mountain ride in Disneyland Paris this was absolutely rubbish! Disney really need to think about upgrading this ride after building Expedition Everest. It's out of date and people need the scare factor when it comes to the mountains at the Magic Kingdom, what else is going to do it there. However as I say this I was really shocked at how steep the Splash Mountain drop was. You can't get that in the UK. If your going to go on any of the mountains try Splash Mountain.

One of the two rollercoaster in the Magic Kingdom (the other is Big Thunder Mountain) is in Tommorowland and it is called Space Mountains. This is one of the most popular ride in the Magic Kingdom, especially for teens and also adults. Yes, the ride may only go 28mph. which isn't as fast as the other big name rollercoasters out there but there is one thing that I haven't said yet. You are going down 28mph in the dark, not including the sharp turns, it makes it seem as though the ride is going faster than that. This is genius. Why didn't anybody think of that. It so much fun riding a rollercoaster in the dark because you'll never know what is going to happen next. I really like the the entrance line. You get to hear calm space music which I really like and you get to look at pictures of space planets and stars and also it is inside with good air conditioning. When you get far enough in the line you see tvs and they do an entertaining thing of the news in space like sports and other kind of stuff. But you still want to get to the ride quickly though so you should either go early to go on this ride, go during a parade, or I did this thing where I could stay after the park closes and go on a limited amount of rides. I got to go on space mountain 2 or 3 times but you should get them quickly because only a limited ammount of people acutally get the tickets to do that. The other rides that stay open are also Buzz Lightyear, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, and also I think most of the rides in Fantasy Land are still open. Anyways, during the day, Space Mountains line will be very long and you'll probably will have to wait for and hour or over to get on the ride. This ride is totally a must see.

Good rollercoaster in the dark. Good themes. Only problems is it usually has long queues. One time on a Saturday we waited about one and a half hours.

Space Mountain was my second favourite attraction in the Magic Kingdom. (Yes, Canadians have to spell 'favourite' with a 'u'). Disney basically put a Wild Mouse coaster in the dark, and does it ever work! Naturally, it has the best Wild Mouse themeing ever. 5 stars!

Even though Space Mountain pales in comparison to todays thrill rides, it still holds a special place in my heart for purely nostalgic reasons. The feeling I get is one of pure enjoyment every time I go inside the lighted blue tunnel. Today's youth might be disappointed in the slow speed and the jerky ride of Space Mountain, but for me it is still pure Disney Magic! --Nathan M Rose
