Germany Overview
The Germany Pavilion opened during Epcot Grand opening in 1982. It has a number of shops selling German dolls, clocks, and other goods, as well as a traditional German restaurant, The Biergarten. The Centerpiece of the plaza is a statue of St. George, who is known for slaying dragon during a pilgrimage to the Middle East. This Pavilion was originally supposed to have a ride called the Rhine River Ride. This ride was to focus on German Folklore and feature German landmarks. However, this ride never came to fruition, and the building that was to house it was turned into a storage area.
