Norway Overview
Norway, one of the most recent additions to the World Showcase was added in 1988. Originally, this Pavillion was supoosed to showcase a few different countries, making it a "Nordic" Pavillion. However, investors from Norway were able to raise the $30 Million required for the entire project. The Norwegian Government felt it would be good for their tourism and well worth the investment. The pavillion is located between Mexico and China around the World showcase lagoon. Cobblestone roads line this quaint little "village" that also is the home to building replicas from such cities as as Bergen, Oslo, Alesund and Setesdahl.

Maelstrom
Take a fantastic Viking voyage through Norway in Epcot's Maelstrom. Guests board a 16 passenger Viking boat to guide them on their journey. Through the use of audio-animatronics guests are able to enter and experience all the pleasures and beauty that Norway has to offer.
Guests will travel back to days long forgotten to visit a Viking country and a mythical troll forest. Afterwards, they are whisked away to modern Norway where they will experience Polar Bears, and a climatic storm in the North Sea.
Your journey ends at a quaint, calm fishing village, where you will then be taken into a theater, and be presented with a short movie about Norway and its people.
On a final note, please be kind to the trolls, if not you might find your Viking ship sent over a waterfall...backwards!
Puffin's Roost
The Puffin's Roost features beautiful Norwegian gifts such as sweaters, activewear, fragrances, jewelry, fine leather goods, pewter, candy, and toys and of course lucky trolls. The shop is located at in the back of the pavillion and also has an entrace located at the exit of Maelstrom. Make sure you get your picture taken with the larger than life troll that is in the middle of the shop!
