Maelstrom Overview

Take a fantastic Viking voyage through Norway in Epcot's Maelstrom. Guests board a 16 passenger Viking boat to guide them on their journey. Through the use of audio-animatronics guests are able to enter and experience all the pleasures and beauty that Norway has to offer.

Guests will travel back to days long forgotten to visit a Viking country and a mythical troll forest. Afterwards, they are whisked away to modern Norway where they will experience Polar Bears, and a climatic storm in the North Sea.

Your journey ends at a quaint, calm fishing village, where you will then be taken into a theater, and be presented with a short movie about Norway and its people.

On a final note, please be kind to the trolls, if not you might find your Viking ship sent over a waterfall...backwards!

Although it is short, this is a quick look at the history of Norway. Trolls and vikings dominate the story, making this the most popular attraction in the World Showcase.

Pretty good ride. Liked the wind and the drop downhill I think it was backwards?! It was basically a log flume ride with good themes.

This has to be one of my favorite rides at Disney World. I do agree it is a little too short but everything else is awesome. I wouldn't really suggest bringing little kids on it though A++++++.
