This animatronic musical show, featuring eighteen bears, is a blend of country western music and humor that provides fun for all ages. The bears also change their show around for the Holiday season. Starting Thanksgiving and ending on New Years day guest will be entertained by a Holiday show.
"So clap your hands and stomp your feet and try to keep right with 'em. One sure thing the Bear Band's got is real ol' country rhythm!"
Country Bear Jamboree History
The Country Bears where originally designed to be included in Walt Disney's Mineral King Project, a California ski
resort. However, the Mineral King project fell through and the Country Bears where added to the Walt Disney World project.
Various different styles of music were experimented with, ranging from Dixieland
to hillbilly until the country music theme was finally decided upon.
The attraction opened in October 1971 in Walt Disney World, and opened the following year in Disneyland.
Country Bear Jamboree Trivia
- Country Bear Jamboree was the first major attraction to be debuted at Walt Disney World.
- Wonder Bread replaced Pepsi Cola as the sponsor in 1975. Strangely, Henry the bear continued to announce, "Just refrain from hibernatin'... and we'll all enjoy the show, cause we got a lot to give!" -- a reference to Pepsi Cola's 1969-1973 slogan, "You've go a lot to live, Pepsi's got a lot to give!"
- Show Length: 18 minutes
Country Bear Jamboree Hidden Mickeys
- Above the main stage there is a hidden Mickey. There is a big circle and then there are little swirls that make up the ears.
- When Henry (the host) has the raccoon hat on his head look at the shadow it gives for a hidden Mickey.
- On the center stage if you look up you see a flower in the middle with a squirrel. The squirrel's tail splits to form a hidden Mickey.
- At Grizzly Hall there are quite a few hidden Mickeys present but in a matter of time they will not be hidden to the discoverers. Look at the center of the stage then allow your eyes to travel upwards. Flowers and scrollwork will hide the hidden Mickey.
- Big Al’s guitar is also Mickey branded but make sure you see for yourself.
- On your way out of Grizzly Hall after the wonderful show of Country Bear Jamboree, look towards the railing and when it turns left the screws represent a hidden Mickey.
