Mickey's PhilharMagic History
In the Spring of 2002, Walt Disney World®, launched contruction on a new 3-D adventure inside Magic Kingdom's Fantasyland, Mickey's Philharmagic.
Walt Disney Imagineering came up with a new immersive 3-D technology especially created for this attraction called "DisneyVision."
"It's the most ambitious 3-D adventure ever created," Kevin Rafferty, Senior Show Writer for Walt Disney Imagineering, tells us. "The screen is so big, the theater seems to magically
'disappear' and pull you into this musical 'vortex' with Donald."
At 25 feet high by 100 feet wide, the seamless, wrap-around DisneyVision screen is the largest of its kind. You'll feel as if you're right there with your animated friends.
New in-theater special effects also draw you into the show. "Mickey's PhilharMagic was created for the entire family to enjoy, especially young children," Kevin adds. "We have what we call 'reach moments,' in which Disney friends appear in front of you as if you could touch them."
Many Guests stil remember the Mickey Mouse Revue, originally presented in the same Fantasyland theater three decades ago. This Audio-Animatronic musical also stared Mickey as the conductor.
"I'd like to think of Mickey's PhilharMagic as the next generation of the Mickey Mouse Revue," Kevin comments. "So many of the characters are back again, but using entirely new technology," he says.

Mickey's Philharmagic Reviews
 | 5/22/2008 | Reviewer: Brandon, MI, USA This definitely gives Muppets and It's Tough To Be A Bug a run for it's money. The CGI works great in 3-D and this proves that no one does 3-D like Disney.
 | 4/25/2007 | Reviewer: Shop Girl, WV, USA One of the best state-of-the-art attractions. Entertaining, beautiful to watch, and the 3D is excellent. This is a "not to be missed" attraction.
 | 4/6/2007 | Reviewer: California Pooh Bear and Tigger Too, Redlands, CA, USA As an employee of Disneyland in California, I am amazed at the size and space that the Magic Kingdom has. Mickey's Philharmagic is creative, fresh and very well done. I love my Disneyland, but WDW allows Imagineers to really flex their creative skills to the "n"th level.
With the 3D effect in place "Philharmagic" is unique and is really a joy to the senses. The sights mixed with the sounds make Philharmagic a Disney Classic.
