Mousefest 2007
Mousefest 2007 has come and gone, it seems that just yesterday the staffs of Magical Mountain and MDP were planning meets. With that said you know what is coming next – a trip down Mousefest 2007 memory lane.
Magical Mountain/MDP started off their meets on Friday with an Expedition to Everest – to scale the mountain and face the Yeti! We are happy to report that everyone returned safely. Next it was on to Podfest, hosted by WDW Radio’s Lou Mongello, former co-host of Mousetunes. MDP was represented by Nathan Rose, Tim Devine and Jackie O. All of the MDP hosts had a grand time meeting their listeners and other Podcast hosts. We ended the night with the Magical Mountain Raglan Road meet. Great food, spirits, music and of course fascinating conversations were had by all. Overheard at this meet- Jackie admitting that it was exciting but strange to be recognized, Tim wondering why the Irish dancer’s head doesn’t move and a discussion of the different Disney parks around the world.
Saturday we awoke to spend the afternoon at the MegaMouse meet. There were a variety of Disney websites, podcasts and authors represented – Allearsnet.com, Passporter, Mouseforless, WDW Trivia and WDW Radio, and of course our very own Magical Mountain and MDP Podcast. (For a complete list of participating communities go to mousefest.org.)
The staffs of MDP and Magical Mountain spent Sunday morning at a staff meeting at Boma. The real truth is we went there for the food, I do believe little or no work was accomplished (but don’t’ tell Nathan). Than it was on to the Pirates meet were we saw Jack Sparrow not once but three times!!! We ended the day learning about the History of the Disney trains hosted by Kendra Trahan, National President of the NFFC and Board member of the Carolwood Pacific Historical Society and Nathan Rose.
Monday saw many attendees begin to return to the real world however many stayed for Beverlyfest Part 2. Tim and Jackie drank Beverly for charity.
Mousefest ended on a high note with the Fantasia Gardens Mini Golf Challenge. We are looking forward to next year.
