He was born in Ireland but loved his trips to the Walt Disney World so much that he took up residence there.

What Is The History Behind Shandy The Sugar Glider?

Back in 2005, Nathan Rose, owner of Magical Mountain, LLC decided that due to the ever increasing scope of Magical Mountain, it should have it's own identity in the online Disney community. After talking with some colleagues it was decided that a Sugar Glider would be official mascot for the website and the company.

Now that the decision has been made the next task was on how to go about realizing this dream. Magical Mountain searched high and low for someone who they thought would be able to carry out Nathan's vision and finally found the perfect artist.

After many hours of work and months of going back and forth the rough pencil sketches of Shandy The Sugar Glider (currently only an unnamed sugar glider) made their debut at Mousefest 2006 (an international gathering of Disney fans at Walt Disney World) It was then left up to the online Disney community to decide the little sugar gliders name....Shandy.



Today Shandy is known throughout the world as the mascot for Magical Mountain, can be see occasionally with Disney fans at the Disney theme parks, and is featured on numerous other project Magical Mountain, LLC has online.

Shandy The Sugar Glider, who is occasionally heard on the Magical Definitoin Disney Podcast, is voiced by the man of many talents, Jonathan Dichter. Jonathan honed his vocal skills both at law school and as a professional stand-up comedian doing impressions for years. Jonathan is proud to be a part of the Podcast Crew, despite his wife's constant eye-rolling (don't let her fool you, she dropped pixie dust outside Peter Pan's Flight on their honeymoon).
